FIDE Open Section

Entries are limited to 50 players

(Opposite the Great Hall)

The analysis/parent's room will be open for duration of the tournament

There will be six rounds and play will commence at 11.00 am.

Each player has 20 mins + 5 seconds per completed move.

Entry fee: £20

Entrants who are not ECF Silver member or above must pay a surcharge of £10.00.

Note that this applies irrespective of the FIDE nationality of the player.

Prize money:

1st £140, 2nd £80; and 3 Grading Prizes based on 40 players

Playing Schedule

Round 1 11:00; Round 2 12.00; Round 3 13:00; Round 4 14.00

Round 5 15.00; Round 6 16.00

All sections will be FIDE and ECF rated.

Section eligibility and the rating assigned for pairings will be determined in the following order:

(1) FIDE Rapidplay Rating (October 2022)

(2) ECF Rapidplay Rating (October 2022)

(3) FIDE Standard Rating (October 2022)

(4) ECF Standard Rating (October 2022)

For players without any of these ratings, the rating allocated for pairings will be determined by the Organiser on a case-by-case basis.

Entries on the day are not possible for this event.

Hot & cold refreshments will NOT be available during the event.

Smoking is not permitted on the premises. Limited free parking on site.
